National Skills Conference: The Skills Needs of the Irish Economy to 2020
The National Skills Conference, held on 26 October 2006, was organised by Forfás on behalf of the Expert Group on Future Skills Needs, with the support of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, the Department of Education and Science, FÁS and the Higher Education Authority. The theme of the Conference was meeting the skills needs of a competitive, knowledge-based, participative and inclusive Irish economy over the period to 2020.
The Reflections Paper provides a high level overview of some of the challenges and issues facing Ireland from a skills perspective which were considered at the National Skills Conference. Presentations from the conference can be downloaded below.
